Toys for Tots
Capital City Civitan is committed to making a difference in the lives of those closest to us - the people in need within our own community in Raleigh and the Toys for Tots program has been one of our Christmas projects for a very long time!
The United States Marine Corps began the Toys for Tots program in 1947, and it was officially made a corps-wide project in 1948. In the beginning, gently used toys were collected, refurbished and distributed. In 1979, the decision was made to collect only new, unwrapped toys. Capital City Civitan members donate toys each year to our local Toys for Tots program, which is headquartered in Raleigh and serves 9 counties.
